Release 2025.01b

Initial installation for the year must be from the first Partnership Edition (1065) program we provide you for the current tax season. Once you have completed the installation, you can use these on-line updates for subsequent changes throughout the tax season and thereafter.

TIP: Before executing these downloads, exit Tax Preparer by closing the Tax Preparer Control Panel. If you do not, you will encounter an error message indicating that HSPrnTax.EXE is being used by another process, and the update will not be completed.

The downloads on this page are only for Partnership Edition for Form 1065 returns. Downloads for Tax Preparer for Form 1040 returns are found on the Main Downloads page. Downloads for the California Supplement for Form 540 returns are found on the California Downloads page.

Partnership Edition Downloads


In order to use downloads on this page, you must have already installed the complete program for the 2025 edition of the Form 1065 software, such as release 2025.01. Just go to the level you installed and click the link. Your prior installation will then be updated to the latest release.

No updates required. Partnership Edition release 2025.01 is the latest release.

Economy Level. To update the Economy Level to release pe2025.01b, click the following link: Update Partnership 2025 Edition Economy (pe2025.01b).

Changes in recent releases

Release 2025.01b differs from Release 2025.01a as follows:

  •   Official printouts revised to avert the possible printing of an extra copy of the main form (Form 1065, pages 1 through 6).
    Prior to this update, unwanted copies of Form 1065 would be printed under two circumstances:
    •   COMPLETE Tax Returns. If you chose to print 'COMPLETE Tax Returns,' two copies of Form 1065 would be printed before the remainder of the forms were printed.
    •   ALL forms prepared. Whether you chose GRAPHIC or DRAFT printouts, if you chose 'ALL forms prepared' but answered No to 'Including Form 1065?" a copy of Form 1065 would be printed anyway.
    This update eliminates these anomalies.

Release 2025.01a differs from Release 2025.01 as follows:

  •   Schedule K (Form 1065, page 5) printouts revised to add clarity:
    •   Line 13e is revised to ensure that the total amount for the line is reliably printed in the proper position (in the far right column) and is never omitted, irrespective of the support for that line. In addition, the draft printout is revised for more reliable printing of '13e' beside the amount.
    •   Line 15f is revised to ensure that the total amount for the line is always printed and that '15e' is printed beside the amount.
    •   Line 20c is revised to show the dollar total for items detailed in the supporting statement for the line, even though the IRS does not provide a place for it. (The amount will always be meaningful when there is only one item listed in the support, but may be less useful when the support includes a mix of items.)
    •   Additional lines are revised for better aesthetics and formatting consistency.
  •   Partnership Tax Forms Guide updated. The updating of this manual for the current filing season is now complete.
